Practical information
Travel and location The Summer School will take place at the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse. It is located on the west cost of the beautiful Corsica island in the south of France, near by the city of Ajaccio. The place enjoins a great landscape and a direct access to the sea. The wheather is usually fantastic in June and July. Information about your venue can be found on the website of the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse: Group transportation will be organised on Monday 6 July and Friday 17 July from/to Ajaccio airport.
The registration to the Summer School is a two-step procedure: The application process (phase 1) During the application phase, applicants are requested to fill in an application form that is submitted to the Organization Committee. Applicants will be selected upon their research interest, their academic status and, possibly, their publication list (incomplete applications will not be considered). For PhD students and Post-Docs, the name of the scientific supervisor should be provided. In the application form, only invited lecturers give an oral presentation. All other attendees are encouraged to contribute to the poster session. A limited number of posters will be selected to give a contributed talk. The registration fees are 900 euros. They include accommodation, on a shared room basis, in Cargèse (from Monday July 6 evening to Friday July 17 morning), lunches at the Institute, coffee breaks, and bus transportation from Ajaccio airport to Cargese (round-trip). The registration fees will be charged regardless of the duration of stay of the participant. Invited lecturers do not pay the registration fees. Housing, for the duration of the course only, will be arranged by the staff of the Institute following, as much as possible, your preferences. Demands for single rooms or accompanying persons can be satisfied upon prior acceptance of the organizers. Extra fare will then have to be paid on site. |
